I would like to say that forgiveness is to let go when someone wrongs or offends you in one way or the other. God wants us to be a channel of forgiveness where there is unforgiveness. The Bible says in Colossians 3vs13 that; “Be tolerant with one another and forgive one another whenever any of you has a complaint against someone else, you must forgive one another just as the Lord has forgiven you”. If you call yourself a believer, and when you see where there is unforgiveness and you encourage or promote such, then you are not a channel of forgiveness and this also means you may not share in the Kingdom heritage.
Be reminded again that when Jesus Christ did nothing wrong when he was accused even to the point of His death, He said; ‘Father forgive them for they don’t know what they are doing’. He was a perfect example of a Person of forgiveness who had the attribute to bring forgiveness in the midst of unforgiveness. As a follower of Christ, it is our duty and responsibility to be channels of forgiveness in the midst of unforgiveness. If you encounter where people are holding grudges with one another with the intention not to let go and you influence them to hold on to unforgiveness in their hearts, then you are not as such as Christ and you will likely not receive forgiveness from God because you promote unforgiveness instead of forgiveness.
I urge us to be channels of forgiveness in the midst of unforgiveness so that we can always enjoy the forgiveness of God all the time – John 14vs6.
