THERE IS CONSEQUENCE FOR ANYTHING YOU ACHIEVE AS EXPECTED UNRIGHTEOUSLY

GAFFORD FAVOUR: Glory be to God to be here again on Comfort Desk. The discussion on the desk is; “THERE IS CONSEQUENCE FOR ANYTHING YOU ACHIEVE AS EXPECTED UNRIGHTEOUSLY”. The word consequence can be defined as something that happens as a result of something else. All through the Scripture, God is known to be righteous and He never compromises His Ways to help His people to achieve anything as expected. Here, we see some Biblical characters achieved some certain desires, victories and testimonies as expected unrighteously. I mean through means not in accord with God’s nature. Does that mean God supported them? No! Though these people got their expectations as expected but definitely God was not pleased with the process of achieving it. You don’t have to use unrighteous means to achieve victory as expected because there is always consequence for anything one achieves as expected unrighteously. Why? Because God does not support unrighteousness. Though these consequences over these Biblical characters may not be written but there would definitely be consequence for the scripture says no sinner shall go unpunished for sin is unrighteousness and not pleasing to God.
NWAJIAKU CHARLES CHINONSO: Yes indeed! This is a fact that we must come to accept. No wrong deed shall ever go unpunished. Even if the wrong deed was committed for a right reason, there shall definitely be consequence for such wrong deed. No matter what we achieve on this earth; be it money, peace of mind, food, wealth, love, companionship, safety etc, once we achieve any of these things in a way that doesn’t align with the Word of God, then we shall surely be tagged with the consequences of disobedience. Take the scenario of Moses’ action in Numbers 20vs8-12 as a case study. Here, the Israelites found themselves in the wilderness where there was no water at all and they were very thirsty. They complained to Moses who in turn consulted God for help and God replied by instructing Moses to speak unto a certain rock and as once the rock would yield water for the people to drink. Moses rather than obeying God’s Word accordingly, speaking to the rock for water to come out, he went the other way round to strike the rock with his rod and surprisingly water still gushed out for the people. Looking at this story from the Bible, Moses was able to perform something extraordinary for the benefit of the people as expected, but the means he used to achieve this was against the Will of God, hence he was dealt with by God for his actions. Moses, who was professed to lead the people of Israel into the land of promise was denied access into the promise land because of this act. Moses birthright was taken away from him because he tried to achieve what God wanted and for the purpose God wanted it through the wrong approach. No matter how wonderful and good our motives are, once the means to visualize them are contrary to God’s Will, then there shall definitely be consequences. I mean there is always consequence for anything we achieve as deired or expected unrighteously.
OKPAGA COMFORT: Definitely, there is always consequence for anything we achieve as expected unrighteously because no sinner shall go unpunished. Proverbs 19vs9 says; “A false witness shall not be unpunished and he that speaks lies shall never escape”. Yes, one might have achieved what is expected but as long as the process of achieving it is against God’s approach, such person won’t escape the consequence that follow suit. Taking the case study of the people of Israel in Joshua 2vs1-24; when Joshua sent two spies to the land of Jericho. The spies knew how dangerous the journey was and the attack it could pose on their lives. They eventually found themselves in the house of a prostitute named Rahab who hid them from being attacked as the people of Jerico noticed. The information reached the king of Jerico who sent for her to produce the spies that came into her house. She confirmed seeing the spies from Israel but never made known she hid them in the roof of her house. The spies from Israel heard of her lies to save them, but never corrected her to stay truthful because they feared to be attacked and killed. They were comfortable with her lies which was against God’s nature as He always want us to be truthful with no shade of lies in us. Their silence means they supported the lies from the prostitute. Yes, they did escape from Jerico as expected but the means had ‘lies’ in it which was a sin that they never kicked against – Thou shall not lie says the Lord – Leviticus 19vs11. Though, there might not be written consequences for this but I want us to know that no unrighteous means to get our expectations will survive without any consequence. I mean for any unrighteous act you take or encourage others to take to achieve an expected outcome, there shall definitely be consequence. So, it’s only permitted for us as believers to achieve anything as expected and desired in a righteous manner for the salvation of our souls.
IGHO UFUOMA MARVELOUS: Yes indeed, there is consequence to anything we achieve as expected in unrighteousness. I would like to use the case study of Elisha in the Book of 2 Kings 2vs 23-24. Elisha left Jericho to go to Bethel and some children had fun of him in the course of his journey. Elisha turned round, glared at them and cursed them in the name of the Lord. Immediately, two she-bears came out of the woods and tore the 42 children to pieces. Looking through the case study of Elisha, his expectation was to see these children eradicated out of anger, but he didn’t see another way of punishing these children for their wrong doing that may still keep them alive rather than the way He did out of anger that made their lives cut short. Above all, there is consequence for anything we achieve as expected in a manner not approve of God except He does. We’ve been given some instances in the Bible about some people who achieved things as expected unrighteously, though their consequences might not be written but according to the Scripture which says no unrighteousness will go unpunished. We are using this medium to implore everyone all around the world to do everything of their desires in the state of righteousness because unrighteous means of achieving anything has consequence. Once again, there is always consequence for anything you achieve as expected unrighteously. Praise God, and be reminded again that Jesus Christ is the Way, the Truth and the Life . . . – John 14vs6.
