The Bible in 1 John 2vs15-16 says; “Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him, because all that is in the world (the desire of the flesh and the desire of the eyes and the arrogance produced by material possessions) is not from the Father, but is from the world”. The question is, what does it mean to love the world? To love the world simply means to live under the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes and the pride of life. When we live under these factors, it shows we don’t love God and the love of the Father is not in us. To this, Apostle James warns against the implication of loving the world in James 4vs4 saying; “Adulteresses! Don’t you know that friendship with the world is hostility toward God? So whoever wants to be the world’s friend becomes God’s enemy”. In other words, if we love the world, we automatically become God’s enemies which is a terrible state for us to be. Worst of all, if we love the world we shall not inherit God’s Kingdom and this was why Jesus Christ commanded us not to love the world because He knows that the moment we love the world, love of the Father will be displaced in our hearts and when this happens, there is no way we can inherit Kingdom of God.
Therefore, we must desist from loving the world if we want to make Heaven. I pray as we harken unto this opinion of Jesus Christ, God shall give us abundant grace to abide in His love forever in Jesus Name, amen. Be reminded again that Jesus Christ is the Way, the Truth and the Life . . . – John 14vs6.
