After checking one of the dictionary to know what love means, I found it to mean deep and intense affection. Though, some people may say love is a strong affection or emotion you have to someone or something, but I will say love is beyond that. What is Love? Love is God. God is the real definition of love. It was love that made God send His Son, Jesus Christ to pay for what He never did – John 3vs16 and when His Son came, He taught us to love one another. He also said we should love those who hate us.
At the Cross Jesus Christ said; “Lord forgive them for they know not what they are doing” – this is Love. This is what God wants all His children to be – channels of love where their is hatred. Also, to tell others to love one other whenever hatred occurs.
What kind of channels are you? Are you a channel that shows love to people around you or allow hatred? As believers, how many people have you loved and taught to love others sincerely? What has others learnt from you in terms of love? This is who Jesus Christ is, He was around people who hated Him and still, He healed them. When they were plotting on how to kill Him, He didn’t destroy them instead He still prayed for them – this is what love defines.
A person who is a channel of love will not kill, abuse, keep malice, fight or plot evil against others. A channel of love doesn’t dishonor, dislike or act contrary to God nature of life – Romans 12vs9-21.
Let us be channels of Love where there is hatred for the salvation of our souls and others and continue to stay in Christ who is the Way, the Truth and the Life: that no one goes to God except through Him – John 14vs6
