GIVE TO CAESAR WHAT BELONGS TO CAESAR AND TO GOD WHAT BELONGS TO GOD BUT NEVER GIVE TO THE DEVIL

Today, many people misunderstand the saying of Christ; ‘give to Caesar what belongs to Caesar and to God what belongs to God’.
In Matthew 22vs15-22, it talked about Caesar who was a Roman Emperor that received the taxes or tributes of the people as at that time. In a simplest notation, what Caesar did was to collect the taxes paid by the people to take care of the affairs of the land. Jesus Christ then made us to understand in His saying that wherever we find ourselves, we should give to the land what is required of us for the development of the land not to the devil. So, we shouldn’t have this notion that this expression of Jesus Christ is saying we should give to the devil what belongs to the devil. You only give to the devil what belongs to him in your possession but as long as you don’t have anything of the devil in your possession, then you may end up giving what belong to God in your possession to the devil. Be careful!
It is very good we understand this context so that we can be effective to support the development of the country and to also give to God appropriately what is required of us in due time and in due season. Be reminded again that Jesus Christ is the Way, the Truth and the Life: no one goes to God except through Him – John 14vs6.
