Jesus Christ told a parable about ten virgins in Matthew 25vs1-13; who were invited to a wedding banquet. Five of the virgins were wise by taking enough oil for their lamps because they didn’t know how long the bridegroom would arrive. The other five virgins were called foolish because they didn’t take enough oil. At the arrival of the bridegroom, the five foolish virgins realized they didn’t have enough oil, so they quickly went to get but before they arrived, the door been closed and they were denied access to enter with the bridegroom.
Here comes what I want you to understand as believers that we are likened to these virgins in this world waiting for the arrival of Jesus Christ. Yes, some believers appeared to be prepared but at one point allowed the issues of life to weigh them down and they suddenly become unprepared for the arrival of Christ. Some believers on the other hand always encourage themselves in Christ Jesus despite the circumstances and issues of life surrounding them to keep going, waiting earnestly for the arrival of Jesus Christ.
As believers who want to be saved, we should learn from the five wise virgins who put in all it takes to meet with the arrival of Jesus Christ so that we don’t get locked out of the Kingdom of God that is about to be established.
Please, don’t allow Jesus Christ second coming meet you unprepared and continue to stay focused on Jesus Christ who is the Way, the Truth and the Life: that no one goes to God except through Him – John 14vs6.
