Mourning is natural and emotional reaction to loss of someone or something important to you. The loss can be a person, object, or even a way of life. Mourning comes for a number of reasons that range from loss of love ones, the affliction of sicknesses and diseases or punishment for sins committed that may make God allow the enemies to attack His children. During a time of loss, emotions can be intensely painful, affecting all aspects of life and relationships.
For some people, mourning might be felt in spikes throughout the day, for others it may suddenly come up every few days. Some have compared it to feeling as though they are drowning due to the tidal waves of emotions that affect them at times. Other might say that it feels like it’s an extra weight on their heart or shoulders that they carry around with them wherever they go. Everyone experience mourning differently and on a different timeline. The Bible says we should mourn with those that mourn and rejoice with those that rejoice. I am using these medium to tell you, that it is expected of us to means or channels in which people can get comforted whenever mourning arises.
As a believers, it is our responsibility to mourn with those who mourn to be comforted. We are not to say; ‘It is not of my business’. Jesus Christ implores you to be channels of comfort in the midst of mourning for the salvation of our souls and others, and let us continue to stay focused on this same Jesus Christ who is the Way, the Truth and the Life: that no one goes to God except through Him – John 14vs6
