In Matthew 22vs34-40, a Pharisee asked Jesus Christ that; which is the greatest commandment in the law? The Jesus Christ answered that the ultimate commandment is to wholeheartedly love God and our fellow humans, that on these two commands depend the law and the prophet. This shows that if we love God with our heart, soul and mind, we equally obey His command, because we won’t do anything that will offend Him and our fellow human.
Loving God with your heart, soul and mind simply means loving Him with your life. I mean dedicating every aspect of our being to Him and thereby making Him our top priority always. The law says don’t kill, don’t steal, don’t fornicate, don’t covet, don’t bear false witness and so on; if we love our neighbors, we won’t hurt one another in any of these ways. So, Jesus was right in saying that love for God and humanity is the greatest of all the law because it covers all other commandments.
At such a time as this, love is what we need to practice among ourselves in order to destroy the destructive agenda of the devil through hatred. Love for God and love for others is the fulfilment of God’s law.
I want us to know that we cannot love others until we are in right relationship with God. Please, let love lead in all we do for the salvation of our souls and others, and to be reminded again that Jesus Christ remains the Way, the Truth and the Life: no one goes to God except through Him – John 14vs6
