The ability for a man to speak and express himself is one of the greatest gifts man has received from God. This gift distinguishes man from other creatures as a tremendous potential for both good and bad.
The mouth performs so many duties like eating, speaking and the like. Within the mouth, we have the tongue which helps to make sounds. This tongue is a very sensitive organ in the mouth which must not be used carelessly. The tongue is a powerful weapon as it can destroy or build life – James 3vs9-11. Also, there’s great blessedness in the proper use of it.
Men in time past changed their lives with the proper use of the tongue from trials to trump, sourness to sweetness, bitterness to betterness and so on – Proverbs 18vs21.
Moreover, the proper use of tongue is not only by saying the right words at the right time, but also the ability to speak when it is of great importance and to be mute where necessary. Untamed and careless tongue leads one to hell – Matthew 12vs36-37.
There’s power in your tongue, guide it well for the salvation of your souls and others and as you do, be reminded again that this same Jesus Christ is the Way, the Truth and the Life: no one goes to God except through Him – John 14vs6.
