Self-denial can mean rejecting or depriving oneself of some certain things in order to achieve a particular goal. For you to be a follower of Jesus Christ then, there are some certain virtues you need to possess and one of these is self-denial. Jesus Christ in Matthew 16vs24 said; “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself”.
Furthermore, James 4vs4 forewarns saying; “Unfaithful creatures! So you not know that friendship with the world is enmity with God? Therefore, whoever wishes to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy with God”. As a believer, it’s not everything the world do that you ride along with, you must deny yourself of some certain things so that you can carry the definite appearance of Christ Jesus.
Self-denial to the sinful pleasures of the world is a pre-requisite to inherit the Kingdom of God. I pray God bless this message in the midst of your heart in Jesus Christ name, amen. As we do this, let us continue to keep our steady focus on this same Jesus Christ who is the Way, the Truth and the Life: that no one goes to God except through Him- John 14vs6.
