According to Luke 3vs1-6, the Bible states that John the Baptist was sent to prepare the way, and throughout his life, he preached repentance from sins and forgiveness at the feet of God. John the Baptist’s message was one of repentance for the remission of sin. Repentance unto life is a saving grace whereby a sinner, having a true sense of his or her sin and apprehending the mercy of God in Christ Jesus, turns away from sin with grief and hatred to returns back to God.
Throughout Jesus Christ’s life and ministry, He preached repentance for the forgiveness of sin, setting an example for us to follow, as indicated in 1 Peter 2vs21 that; “To this you were called, because Christ suffered for you, leaving you an example, that you should follow in His steps.” We are to proclaim the necessities of repentance for the remission of sins. At a time as such as this, the world does not need sugarcoated messages; for the love of many for God is growing cold, many are going astray as iniquities are abounding. We need messages that will change the ways of many from bad to good to have a positive impact on the salvation of souls.
If we do not bring forth the fruits of repentance, we cannot enter the Kingdom of God, and we cannot see this same Jesus Christ, who is the Way, the Truth, and the Life, for no one comes to God except through Him – John 14vs6.
