It takes God’s grace and mercy to see urgent response to prayers offered at the wrong time and this is why we need to be led by the Spirit of God to know what to pray on and how to go about it.
Matthew 26vs36-46 showed us how Jesus Christ took three of His disciples to a place called Gethsemane to pray; while Jesus Christ went to pray, He was disappointed seeing His disciples sleeping heavily. He woke them up actually to pray ahead of the incoming temptation but they were not careful to see it until they fell into the temptation which they would have escaped if they had prayed as instructed by Jesus Christ.
When the betrayers of Jesus Christ came to capture Him, His disciples responded to the attack from those who came to arrest Jesus Christ which let to the cutting off of the ear of one of the high priest’s servants. I guess the other two disciples were not just idle too, they also would have been part in the scene in favour of their Master. This was the temptation Jesus Christ saw ahead which He woke them up to pray against. Had they observed this, I guessed they wouldn’t have fallen victim to respond violently to this attack. Same applies to us too, when the Spirit urges us to pray against a challenging situation, let us not submit to our weaknesses or postpone the prayer atmosphere so that we don’t fall victim of an easily avoidable situation.
Above all, I want you to know that prayer goes well when offered at the right and in the right direction. Please, let us be mindful of this and continue to stay focused on Jesus Christ who is the Way, the Truth and the Life: that no one goes to God except through Him – John 14vs6.
