It is very important for believers to know that for us to be successful in our services for God, there are some qualities we cannot do without. These qualities are; faith, belief, prayer and fasting all in righteousness in Christ Jesus. For anyone to do well and manifest God’s power in his or her service to the glory God, all these qualities must be actively functional in his or her life. Once any of these is missing, it affects the functionality of others and hence may make the manifestation of God’s power in such person’s life to become idle.
Let us take a look at the disciples of Jesus Christ in Mathew 17vs14-21. They attempted to heal and deliver a possessed boy, but they failed to unleash the power of God’s deliverance at that time because they lacked something required for this as noted by Jesus Christ. Of course, the disciples could pray very well, but they didn’t consider fasting along.
Prayer and fasting are like bread and butter, both may be useful individually, but together they make the perfect combo. The lack of faith also affected the manifestation of God’s power at that time. It is faith that brings down the power of God, without it one can do nothing to please God – Hebrews 11vs6.
All who want to truly enjoy the manifestation of God’s power in their services to Him, must have faith deeply rooted in His Word, believing totally in Him, prayerful and also fast from time to time. As you do, continue to keep your focus on Jesus Christ who is the Way, the Truth and the Life: that no one goes to God except through Him – John 14vs6
