DO NOT LET GUILT DESTROY YOU BUT RATHER LET IT LEAD YOU TO GOD
The Bible in Romans 2vs15 says that; “They show that the work of the law is written on their hearts. Their consciences confirm this. Their competing thoughts will either accuse or excuse them”. This is what we call the conscience bearing witness.
This shows that God’s law is actually written in our hearts and that is why we have this emotions, pain or guilt when we realize we’ve sinned or committed a crime against God. God has built into every human being an alarm system called the conscience. Whenever we go against His law, this alarm system rings in the heart of a believer. Yes, that’s what the conscience is for, to tell us of our every state with God.
Guilt is something we all experience in life at one point in life or the other. As a believer, you may feel bad when you cheat, lie, indulge in immoralities and so on, this was what exactly happened to Judas Iscariot. After he betrayed Jesus Christ, he felt so sorry, remorseful and was filled with regret, but he didn’t settle his guilt in the right manner, I mean by going to God with a repentant heart rather he destroyed himself. Our conscience is to keep us with God for the salvation of our souls and not to allow guilt prevail in under this atmosphere. But unfortunately, Judas Iscariot failed to do that and he allowed himself to be tormented by guilt leading to his destructive end.
In summary, whenever your conscience judges you guilty of sin, go to God with genuine repentance and never to let guilt destroy you. I pray God bless His Words in the midst of our hearts in Jesus Christ name, amen.
