In Matthew 22vs34-40, a lawyer asked Jesus Christ, Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the laws? Then, He answered saying; “Love the Lord with all your heart, soul and mind; love your neighbor as yourself for on these two commands depends the laws and prophets”. This shows that if we love God, we will equally obey His commands and we won’t do things that will break any of His commands and likewise if we love our neighbors, we won’t hurt or endanger them for any reason.
Loving God with all your heart, soul and mind simply means loving Him with your life and you can only do this by living an obedient, faith-filled and purpose-driven life. The reason why there are so many wicked practices against ourselves is because we don’t have the love of God in our hearts. If we say we love God, let’s show it by loving our neighbors as this remains the greatest command.
Love for God and love for others is the fulfillment of God’s law. I want us to know that we cannot love others until we are in right relationship with Our Heavenly Father. Let love be central in our hearts and as we do, let us stay focused on this same Jesus Christ who is the Way, the Truth and the Life: that no one goes to God except through Him – John 14vs6.
