A yeast is a yellowish froth produced by fermenting malt wort used in making beer and wine or to make bread rise. A little quantity added to flour has the ability to influence or leaven up the whole lump. In Mark 8vs14-21, Jesus Christ akinned the yeast to the words and teachings of the Pharisees having the ability to influence.
The Pharisees were said to be false teachers as they rejected the true messages of God but to preach their own doctrine leading the people away from God. To this, Jesus Christ had to warn His disciples against their words and teachings as it have the capacity to corrupt the nature of God in them. Just as the yeast influences the flour, so also the words we listen to has the power to influence us either negatively or positively.
Today, we have so many Pharisees around us, preaching the message of men rather than that of God; leading many folks astray by these messages. This is why we need to be very careful of the words and teachings we hear and accept so that we don’t get polluted by wrong teachings. I pray the Lord bless this message in the midst of your heart in Jesus Christ name, amen. As we yield to this, let us continue to keep our focus on this same Jesus Christ who is the Way, the Truth and the Life: that no one goes to God except through Him – John 14vs6.
