Jesus Christ during His earthly reign on earth was a prominent figure. He had twelve disciples amongst other disciples who followed Him in His ministerial business. Then along the line, He would speak to them in parables that held spiritual meaning with which many couldn’t digest the understanding easily. However, imagine someone who had His flesh to be the bread of life! How would Jesus Christ be fed on and His blood taken to bring eternal life? These were some of His words that sounded so unacceptable.
In John 6vs66, the Bible says that many of His disciples stepped behind and walked with Him no more. Verse 67 indicated how Jesus Christ asked His twelve disciples when He saw their body language if they would also leave. Here, Apostle Peter answered Him; Lord, to whom shall we go? Thou hast the Words of eternal life, we believe that Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God. Definitely, the twelve were also confused at some point with great doubts even though they had to still remain with Jesus Christ as majority turned back. In their doubt, they still saw a man who was the Way, the Truth and the Life and they made up their minds to follow Him till the end.
What am I bringing out here? I would want you to know that in this faith race, we need to seek the divine understanding and interpretation of God’s Words otherwise we may be digesting the wrong interpretation that may pull us out of faith and eternal life. Please, let us stay with Jesus Christ in the face of doubt and as we do, let us also keep our steady focus on this same Jesus Christ who is the Way, the Truth and the Life that no one goes to God except through Him – John 14vs6.
